Gafcon Announce Additional Conference to be held in the New Year
The Chairman of the Gafcon Primates Council, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, today announced that Gafcon would be holding a conference for those excluded from attending the recent global gathering in Jerusalem. The Archbishop said:
“The Jerusalem conference was all we prayed it would be: we were fortified by God’s word clearly expounded, we were encouraged and challenged by testimony from around the globe, we delighted in our cultural diversity, we rejoiced in the conspicuous unity of our fellowship and we were inspired by plans to proclaim Christ faithfully to the nations.
And yet, we were saddened by the fact that there were some from Africa and the Middle East who wanted to join us but were prevented from doing so due to visa issues. We are determined that they should experience the same sense of awe and joy and we have therefore decided to organise a conference specifically tailored for them.”
The location and exact dates have yet to be agreed but it is likely to take place towards the end of February. Further details to follow shortly.
