The Rt. Rev. Prof. E.B. Ajulo, Bishop of Okene Anglican Diocese made this during the 3rd Session of the 1st Synod which was held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State. He said that the multitudes represented Israel and prophetically, people who live in the world today adding that God, the judge, was telling His people what He requires of them and all the ways they had wronged Him and others. According to him, the picture of the multitudes in the valley of decision as cited in Joel 3:9-14 is an unusual one,

The fundamental principle in the plan of God to build a nation is righteousness.
This was the submission of Pastor Olutola, General Overseer of The Apostolic Church of Nigeria while preaching on the theme of ‘righteousness exalts a nation’, at this year’s Democracy Service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja. He opined that righteousness is the only foundation for permanent peace, security prosperity and to be able to triumph economically, educationally, theologically, socially and spiritually.

The Rt. Rev. Jacob Ademola Ajetunmobi, Bishop of Ibadan South Diocese of the Anglican Communion has admonished all Christians to be very careful on how they build on the foundation and the Church to learn how to draw her power from the source which is Christ Jesus the author and finisher of faith.
He said this in a Communique released at the end of the Second Session of the 5th Synod held at Christ Church, Mapo Ibadan venue of the synod this year.. He said God’s project is a collective responsibility hence the Church should rid itself from divided interest, selfish approach to problems and carnality.

The Primate of all Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh has reiterated that the Church of Nigeria still stands on the dictates of the Bible as recorded by Matthew chapter 19 from verse 4 that God created male and female hence the Anglican Church in Nigeria believes in the relationship of man and a woman and not Same Sex marriage.
He straightened this up while preaching at the Holy Solemnization between Omo Mark Oghiadomhe son of the Chief of Staff to the President and Miss Omobolade Okeya at the Cathedral Church of the Advent Life Camp, Abuja

The Most Rev. Edmund Akanya, Archbishop of Kaduna Province and Bishop of the Anglican diocese of Kebbi made this assertion at the Abuja diocese monthly power night which took place at the Basilica of Grace Gudu, Apo Abuja. He said that Christians need not depend on what is popularly known as “long leg” to solve their problems because they have a God who is more than able, adding that with Jesus as a friend all the challenges of life are surmountable.

“Many Christians have today devised evil ways to cope with evil, or even to overcome evil times. But evil times should not make us become evil.”
The Most Rev. Emmanuel A. S. Egbunu, Bishop of Lokoja diocese and Archbishop of Lokoja province made this observation during the First Session of the Seventh Synod of the Lokoja Anglican diocese which took place at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity, Lokoja. He added that the Bible warns believers of a time such as this when they will be hated by all nations for Christ’s name sake, when many will fall away and betray one another, and when the love of many will grow cold because of increase in lawlessness. He however, pointed out that the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Nigeria’s former Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon Rtd. has called on the Anglican Communion to review its position on the question of female ordination.
He made this call in his welcome address as the Chairman of the 3rd Session of the 8th Synod of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, diocese of Abuja held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama Abuja. He reiterated his belief that male or female, the body of Christ is one.

The Venerable Dr. Olusola Igbari, Archdeacon of Maitama Archdeaconry and Vicar of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama Abuja made this categorical statement at the Commendation Service held in honour of the late Otunba Lanre Soyebo who passed on recently.
The Cleric who took his main text from Hebrews 13 verse 14 thanked God for the life the deceased lived, his works and testimonies of glowing tribute that followed his death in quick succession. He said life is indeed short especially with what statistics says of life expectancy across the world.

The Rt. Rev. A. B. Lamido, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Wusasa has stated that everybody is responsible to God, and be faithful no matter who they are; whether rich or poor. He made this statement during the 3rd Session of the Eighth Synod of the Diocese of Abuja which took place at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama. He added that whether or not a person has been called as a Minister of God’s truth, all are servants of God and are expected to be accountable adding that as servants, all that they have belong to Him.

The Primate of All Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Nicholas D. Okoh has asserted that by virtue of creation, God is the owner of the universe and human beings own nothing! He cited this assertion in his Synod Charge titled, “Christian Stewardship”, which was read during the Third Session of the Eighth Synod of the Abuja diocese held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama. According to him, God owns material, animals and inanimate, visible and invisible things. He however added that people are active occupants of God’s property and not neutral or irrelevant, stating that by divine commission individuals have been made stewards, managers or administrators on behalf of the owner of the universe.

He said Ecumenism today stands for the universality and catholicity of Christians all over the world with the sole aim of believing and celebrating that common faith as well as mending their differences and working to overcome obstacles to the united witness of Jesus Christ.

The Bishop of Okigwe South Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. David Onuoha made this statement during the opening ceremony of the Third Session of the Eighth Synod of the Abuja diocese held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama. He asked the people to take to heart the admonition of St. Paul wherein he said that it is required in stewards that they be found faithful. He added that the goal of stewardship is to give glory to God and to serve the needs of men; and not for personal enrichment and self gratification.

The Most Rev. Dr. Caleb A. Maduoma, Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Ideato Anglican Diocese has expressed concern about the Christian attitude towards giving to God and His Church. He made this known during the Third Session of the Fifth Synod of the diocese, held at the Anglican Cathedral of St. Peter, Arondizuogu, Ideato-North LGA, Imo State. He added that it is quite disturbing that some Christians especially Anglicans consider it as a “waste” or misplaced priority to make generous donations to the Church.

With the swearing in of the Committee on Amnesty, Nigerians who think it is a wrong step towards a genuine peace in the land, are struggling rather patriotically to accommodate the strange situation. Many notable and respectable people across ethnic and religious divides have spoken in favour of the suggestion, some due to the general frustration with Boko haram, and the government. This amnesty proposition therefore seems like "peace at all cost."

This pronouncement was made by the Rt. Rev. Joseph Musa, Bishop of Idah Diocese during the Abuja Diocesan Power night held at All Saints Anglican Church, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. While speaking on the topic, ‘Looking unto Jesus’, he said that the Church must arise in prayers as was often done in the Scriptures by the early Christians and look unto Jesus for the nation and the President adding that the deliverance of Nigeria is in the hands of believers.
Election of Ms. Amal Pepple as President of United Nations Habitat

The Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Ms. Amal Pepple has been elected President of the governing Council of the United Nations Habitat.
The Election took place last week in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. This is the first time Nigeria is elected to that position since 1978. Ms. Amal Pepple will occupy the seat for two years, 2013 – 2015.
